because he's almost whispering it.

So I think I put in a little too much oil the other day, first indicated by a few bubbles on the dipstick, and then by actually looking at the dipstick. Holy crap, I'm nearly a quart over.

Do they sell oil syringes at parts stores? I'd like to get that stuff out asap, but I don't want to crawl around on the street tonight.

They sell pumps with hoses, but they're all awful and break. Not much good at the moment, but you should totally get a fumoto valve. Makes everything so much easier.

I will certainly keep that in mind. I'd eventually like to autocross this car, so I'll add it to the mod list.

You might be able to find a syringe like that at either a drug store or a farm supply store. With a bit of luck, it should fit some of that clear plastic tubing, which might be small enough to fit down the dipstick tube.

Dude drain some oil out and then if you need to add do so. You are making things way to complex.

Goddamn people, if you overfill your oil you don't go down some contrived path to figure out how to drain some out, please try to remain slightly logical in life people and you will all have a much better time.

What the frack?

I'm just tired of crawling around on the street and going over to my neighbor's apartment basement storage and getting my oil pan out and taking it out of two oil-soaked garbage bags and putting down cardboard on the street under the oil pan for the eventuality that while unscrewing the drain plug, it will slip out and pour the entire contents of my engine everywhere, and in the event that I am able to only drain out a bit, having to put some back in out of the filthy oil pan in unmeasured increments.

Or I could just take out the dipstick, drop in a tube, and draw out exactly the excess. If it's too much, I can just jet it back in.

For a derp like me, sometimes the complicated answers are simpler.

Ok I was being a little silly but those pumps are are so cheap and shitty I don't want to see someone make it hard on themselves and pay to do it.

last time I did this I dropped by the oil changers that have a pit instead of a lift and they drained a bit out for me free of charge. A quart+ is not a good thing though I would get it out before I did any hard rpm

Yeah, I don't plan to do any full oil changes with the syringe. Just the occasional use. It could also be useful for other fluids.
